Reflections from Tabor

As the residential house manager of Tabor, the webmaster , the maid and generally the guy who tries to hold it, himself and others together there has been plenty of opportunities for reflection. Much of these particular musings have been born out of more than a decade of living in various forms of community in different parts of the world, and are oddly shaped by a repetiton. I think this is largely due to the fact that all people share more in common with one another than not. It does not mean that what works for one will work for another necessarily but it does mean that we may have many of the same or at least similar forms of personal 'gifts and gaps', hopes and fears etc etc... First Musing.

First day at school, first day at the office, at work, at play, first baby, first public speaking engagement, first date...I could go on but you get the point. If firsts are important, then beginning to write in your first blog must be important too huh? I mean first impressions and all!

Well, here we go with the first of my musings.

Why am I doing this and should I generalize with a why do we do this rather than a first person?
I think I am writing because I believe we are created to display our selves to others. I think that our lives are meant to be offerings and that is why soooo many people begin to blog, (among other things). When a person writes that he or she wants a place to put their personal thoughts down, then why do it publicly unless we have a desire to display, we have a pride in our selves, or a hope that we might be accepted, appreciated, respected, some might write with a desire to cause nothing more than a reaction. This in itself is a little ploy to garner attention is it not? On a personal note I believe there are many reasons to blog, but I like to hold fast to the inner conviction that ultimately every form of communication is an attempt to manifest love, hopefully that is my reason for blogging, hopefully that is my reason for living, and hopefully that will become the ultimate goal of all future postings.
Thats it, the first one is done, it wasnt too bad was it, nice and short, some food for thought, peace to all, g+
